EMMA MOWRY, MPH, CHES®, New THRIVE! Facilitator
email: [email protected] or [email protected] Before Facilitator Carol Burke retired at the end of June 2024, United Way of Greater Lorain County (UWGLC) struck an agreement with Lorain County Public Health (LCPH) to become the new fiscal agency for THRIVE! Southern Lorain County. |
The new arrangement makes sense: both THRIVE! and LCPH are focused on improving community health and wellness. UWGLC will continue to provide funding for THRIVE!, while LCPH will oversee programming, facilitate meetings and report to UWGLC.
A distinct advantage for the organization, the new Facilitator of THRIVE! is Wellington native Emma Mowry, MPH, CHES®. Emma grew up in town where many family members still live today. Population Health Strategist for LCPH, Emma focuses on community collaboratives in Lorain County, including THRIVE! Southern Lorain County and Keystone Empowers You (KEY) in LaGrange. “Excited!” “I am excited to be doing public health work where I lived for so many years of my life. I look forward to working closely with the people of Wellington and coming together to improve health outcomes in southern Lorain County,” says Emma. Emma earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health from Miami University in 2021, and earned her Master’s degree in Public Health from The George Washington University in May 2024. |
