LCADA, which stands for Lorain County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, was founded in 1981 to transform individual lives, families and communities suffering from alcohol abuse, substance abuse and behavioral health issues. LCADA uses an individualized approach to addiction and mental health treatment, education, prevention and recovery support services for residents in Lorain, Medina and surrounding counties.
LCADA in Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties 440-989-4900 https://www.thelcadaway.org/ One of LCADA’s projects is the Rural Response Network (RRN), whose mission is to reduce overdoses and overdose deaths and strengthen and expand the capacity of Oberlin, Wellington and surrounding rural townships to engage high-risk populations and provide substance use/opioid use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery support services.
RRN is a Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) Planning grant project supported through HRSA’s Federal Office of Rural Health Policy. RCORP-Planning grants aim to strengthen the capacity of multi-sector networks or consortiums to develop plans to begin and sustain services to prevent, treat, and help people recover from Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and/or Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) in rural communities. Grantees are required to develop a consortium, conduct a needs assessment, and create a strategic plan to address barriers and build on strengths. RRN’s service areas are Wellington and Oberlin. The RRN will work collaboratively with community agencies and organizations and in partnership in Wellington and Oberlin and surrounding rural townships to assess needs, identify priorities and create strategies to strengthen their capacity to more effectively address the impact of substance use/opioid use disorder on their residents.
